1920 - There was a "Farmers Festival" in Venice Center, NY that featured speakers, games and entertainment. One of the speakers that day was E.C. Weatherby, Cayuga County Farm Bureau agent. He spoke on the new business initiative that started in 1920, the G.L.F. That afternoon and evening, music was provided by the "Happy Bill" Daniels Orchestra. Other records dewscribed

him to be a professional square dance band leader from near Cortland, NY. This is an article from the local paper reporting on the event.
